VNC Console Options

The VNC Console on our VPS Control Panel offers several options to assist you in navigating and executing keyboard commands easily as well as allowing you to paste text strings into your server’s clipboard for convenience. However, please be aware that some features may not be accessible depending on how your server was installed.

Accessing the Options Side Bar

On the left side of your console, click on the pull-out arrow to reveal the options available on your VNC Console.

Emulating Special Keys on your server

Special keys like the Win/Cmd key, Ctrl , Alt and shortcuts like Ctrl + Alt + Del keys are not passed through the VNC Console due to OS restrictions like Windows or most Linux distributions that you may be using locally. Our VNC Console allows you to emulate these key presses on your server should you have a use for them.

To emulate these special keys, click on the Keys [1] button on the VNC Options and you'll have the option to emulate the following keys

  • Ctrl [2]

  • Alt [3]

  • Windows [4]

  • Tab [5]

  • Esc [6]

  • Ctrl + Alt + Del [7]

You can refer to the image below to correlate the keys with what you should see in the VNC Console option menu.

Pasting into your server's clipboard

Your local computer's clipboard doesn't automatically pass through to your server's clipboard. For your convenience, you may use the clipboard option to directly paste text strings into the servers clipboard which you can then use to paste said text inside your server.

To do this, open the clipboard [1] option and type or paste the text string that you want on your server's clipboard into the text field in the menu that pops up [2]. To paste this text, click on the Paste [3] button.

Making the console full screen

To go to full-screen mode on the VNC Console, simply click on the Full Screen [1] button. You may click on the same button to exit full screen.

Disabling the VNC Console

Once you're done working on your server, you may disable the VNC Console by going to the Options [1] tab and clicking on Disable VNC Access [3] in the VNC [2] section.
