# Power options on a VPS

### Where can you find the power options for your VPS?

You can find them in our Virtualization Panel! Start by logging in, then clicking `Manage` next to the VPS that you'd like to execute a power option on:

Then you'll be presented with a management screen, on which at the top, you'll see the following buttons:

### Boot \[1]

The `Boot` power option will boot your server. This is the equivalent of clicking on the power button on your shut-down computer.

### Shutdown \[2]

The `Shutdown` power option will gracefully shut down your VPS. This is the equivalent of the `shutdown` command on your VPS.

### Restart \[3]

The `Restart` power option will gracefully restart your system. This is the equivalent of the `reboot` command.

### Power Off \[4]

The `Power Off` power option will forcefully shut down your system. This is the equivalent of holding the power button on your server until the system shuts off.

{% hint style="info" %}
If your VPS is currently being backed up, or is restoring from a backup, all of these options will be disabled. Please do not reach out to us about this if you haven't waited at least 12 hours for this process to finish. The process of backup up, as well as restoring can take a while, especially depending on your disk size
