Installing Windows on your VPS

In this guide, we'll show you how you can install any Windows OS on your VPS using an ISO from our ISO Library.

1. Rebuild the VPS

Login to our VPS Control Panel & Click Manage for the VPS you want to reinstall.

Next, on the Overview tab, click on the Rebuild option.

On the pop-up, click Continue to proceed to the next step.

Now that you're on the setup page, Enter the Name of your VPS [1], HostName [2] & the Timezone [3] in their respective fields as shown in the image. Then Click on the Self Install button [4].

Afterward, Click on the Self Install button as shown in the image below.

Lastly, Click on Prepare for Self Install on the popup.

2. Mounting the ISO

Once the VPS is rebuilt, it should take you to the Overview page for your server. Click on the Media [1] Tab and select the ISO image that you want to mount from the DropDown [2] as shown in the image.

Then, with the image selected, click on Insert [1] and Restart [2] your server.

On the popup, confirm the restart by clicking on the Restart button

3. Access the VNC Console

Go back to the Overview [1] tab and click on the VNC button [2] to start the installation on the VNC Console.

4. Install the OS

Now, For the purpose of this guide, we have selected Windows Server 2022. Once the VM is booted into the Windows Installer, Select the preferred Language [1], Time [2], Keyboard Layout [3] and then click Next [4]

After that, click on Install now [1] to proceed

Wait for the Setup to properly initialize and then enter your Product Key [1] and Click Next [2]

Next, Select the exact Windows Version you would like to install by clicking on any one of the options available [1], then click Next [2]

Now you will be prompted to the license agreement section, read through the license and check then checkbox [1] then click Next [2]

Next, Click on Custom: Install Microsoft Server Operating System only (advanced) [1]

5. VirtIO Disk Configuration

By default, during the installation, you won't see any available disks while trying to install windows. To fix this, go back to our VPS Control Panel and navigate to the Media Tab of your server as instructed earlier in this guide.

Now, Click on Eject [1] and make sure to note down the exact ISO file that you had selected previously.

Then, On the DropDown [1], find the select VirtIO Windows Drivers and click Insert [2]

Wait for the new ISO to be loaded and then go back to the VNC Console and click Load driver [1]

Then click OK [1] so it scans and fetches the VirtIO Drivers automatically

Now Select the correct driver as per your windows version [1] and click Next [2]

You should now see your drives showing on the Disk Selection page. Now, Go Back to our VPS Control Panel and Eject [1] the VirtIO ISO.

Next, find the original windows ISO that you had noted down earlier and select it from the dropdown [1] then click Insert [2]

6. Continuing with the installation

Go Back to the VNC Console and click Refresh [1]

Now, click Next [1] and the installer will proceed.

7. Ejecting Windows ISO

Once the installation finishes, go back to our VPS Control Panel and under the Media Tab of the server, click Eject [1]

Now, Simply follow the on-screen instructions to set your user password and prefrences and done!
